Privacy Policy
zeefy ("we", "us") is a job-search service made of a website (zeefy.app) and a browser extension. It recommends jobs to you, drafts answers to application questions, and fills out and submits job applications in your browser at your direction. This policy explains what information we handle and why. zeefy is currently a private beta available by invitation only.
Information you give us
- Account information: your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We do not receive your Google password or access to your Gmail, Drive or other Google data.
- Job-search profile: your resume and the details you provide during onboarding, such as work history, education, location, job preferences, work authorization, and — only if you choose to provide them — voluntary self-identification answers that employers ask for (for example gender, race/ethnicity, veteran or disability status).
- Stories and answers: examples and written or recorded answers you give us so we can draft responses to application questions on your behalf.
Information created while we work for you
- Application data: the jobs we recommend, the application questions on each form, the answers prepared for you, and whether each application was submitted.
- Job-search email address: we give you a dedicated address used only for your job applications. Messages that employers send to that address (confirmations, interview invitations, assessments, rejections, verification codes) are stored and processed so we can show them to you, notify you about important ones, and complete sign-in steps on job sites.
- Job-site accounts: some employer application systems require an account. When the extension creates one for you, we store the sign-in email and password for that job site so we can sign in to it again for your later applications. These are never your personal passwords and are used only on that job site.
What the browser extension accesses
The extension needs access to web pages so it can recognize and fill application forms, which are hosted on thousands of different employer and applicant-tracking-system websites. Its scripts load on pages you visit so that they are ready when needed, but it only reads page content and sends it to us when you start an application from zeefy or ask it to apply on the page you are viewing. In that case it reads the questions on the application form, fills them with answers from your zeefy profile — sending questions it has not seen before to zeefy so an answer can be drafted for you — submits the form, and reports the result back to your zeefy account. It does not collect your browsing history, and it does not read or send the content of pages unrelated to an application you started. The extension uses browser storage only for its own settings and the state of applications in progress.
How we use information
- To recommend jobs that match your preferences and qualifications.
- To prepare and submit job applications that you start, and to track their status.
- To show you employer emails sent to your job-search address and to notify you about the important ones.
- To operate, secure and improve the service, including fixing errors in how forms are filled.
We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Who we share it with
- Employers: when an application is submitted, the information on that application goes to the employer and the application system they use. This is the purpose of the service and happens only for applications you start.
- Service providers that process data on our behalf: AI model providers that read your profile and the application questions to draft answers and to recommend jobs; Cloudflare, which hosts our website and handles email; and Google, if you use Google sign-in. They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and others.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@zeefy.app; we will delete it within 30 days, except where we must keep it to meet a legal obligation. Applications already submitted to employers are held by those employers under their own policies.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Access to stored data is limited to what is needed to run the service. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we will notify affected users of a breach as required by law.
Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The use of information received through the zeefy extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Eligibility
zeefy is intended for people aged 18 and over who are looking for work.
